The Neo-classical complex of the Central Library

Scotland's municipal museum is home to various and vast collections.

The Paisley Museum & art Gallery forum part of large development that incorporated Paisley Library.

It was gifted to the town of Paisley in 1871 by Sir Peter Coats and was opened as the Paisley Free Library and Museum.

The building has been extended on several occasions since it is in Greek Ionic style, tall and single storey. John Honeyman was the Architect designed in 1868.

The Museum & Art Gallery houses many fine and interesting exhibits ranging from paintings, ceramics and local nature history to its world famous collection of Paisley Pattern Shawls.
